Furthering my Music Video

I have now copied my chorus and pasted to another part of the song that repeats this chorus. With this copied chorus, I have took off the last shot of the empty swing swinging as I have planned to add another shot in.
I can now see how much editing I have done and how much editing is left. However, I could also see which other parts of the video I need to film to help complete my music video.

Editing the chorus to refine

Today, I did some altering with the chorus that I edited just to refine it and also to keep it more in time with the music and the lyrics. I looked back at the chorus especially with the second part and found some shots that were a little out of time. It took a bit of time trying to edit the shots so that it cuts to the beat especially with the shot from the back of Ellie swinging to the lyrics of 'it's bringing me down I know.' I have now edited and changed these shots so that it is more refined.

Delay in filming

Unfortunately, I have not been able to film this term due to the bad weather and also because of the snow that we had and the icy conditions. Now that the weather is clear this term, I would be able to do some more filming for my music video. I have now finish editing the footage together for the chorus of my music video and all that is left to do is to film some more footage for the rest of the video.

Carrying on editing the chorus

I have now done some more editing to the chorus, carrying on with the progress on the editing of my Music Video.

From looking back at the editing that I have done last time, with the shot from the back of Ellie swinging, I thought that the shot was too long so I decided to cut where it was in time with the music and add a more close up shot from the back. I had to edit the shot so that the swinging would match the other shot and would flow. I really like this cut as it makes it more interesting and also more creative.

For the next line of the lyrics, 'I know I've got to let it go', I added the shot of Ellie letting go of the swing so that it reflects the lyrics. I decided to slow the shot down so that it matched the speed of the song as the lyrics drags out longer. To change the speed of the shot, I went to 'Modify' on the top bar and clicked on 'Speed'. I then altered the speed till it fitted with the song. I really like this effect as it makes the video look more interesting and also adds variety and creativity.

I then took a close up shot of Ellie letting go of the swing and also slowed it down even more to suit the music and to make it more interesting and quite edgy.

For the last line of the chorus, 'just enjoy the show', I used the a close up shot of the empty swing swinging so that it reflects the character moving on and going to enjoy the show.

Continuing with editing second part of chorus

Today, I have continued to edit the chorus to try and finish thius part of the music video.

I used a high angle shot of looking down on Ellie on the swings as it looks really interesting and quirky. I also like how the lyrics reflect the shot as the shot shows fear on Ellie's face and it matches the lines of the lyrics of 'I'm so scared but I don't show it'. This helps portray more of the artist but also makes it more meaningful and expressive. I really like this shot as it is different and also shows another perspective.

I then used a side shot of Ellie lip syncing and facing the camera to add a variety of different angles and views to make it more interesting. I really like this shot as it is creative and also that it draws you in more so that the only focus is on Ellie who is portraying the artist.

For the lines of the lyrics, 'it's bringing me down I know', I filmed Ellie from behind to create that negative mood but also to create that atmosphere. I used this shot as it adds creativity but also variety as it is different from all the other shots I have used.

Starting editing the second part of the chorus

I have now started editing the second part of the chorus as I have finished editing the first part of the chorus.
Here I have used a mid shot of Ellie on the swings for the first line of the second part of the chorus as I feel as though it looks more interesting and also would focus more on her image as the shot would reflect more of the lyrics, 'I'm just a little girl lost in a moment'. I also chose this shot as I feel that her lip syncing of this line is really good and I also like how she acts in the shot as it makes her look more involved with the song and more realistic in portraying the artist.

I now need to continue editing so I could finish the editing of the whole chorus. I can then play about with different transitions and effects to see how it would look like with the chorus as a whole.

Editing the first part of the chorus

Today, I edited more to the chorus to try and complete the first part of the chorus. When I filmed this part of the chorus, I filmed everything twice so that it gives me more footage and also more variety. I found that filming things twice was handy as when I edited this part of the chorus, I found that some shots were not as good from the first filming but some were good in the second filming.

This was the last line of the first part of the chorus, I decided to add the shot of Ellie sitting on the left side of the bench so that it would look more different and also more interesting. The shot also would add more variety as the last shot is shown in a different angle, using a side view showing Ellie sitting on the right side of the bench, where as this shot uses a straight shot. The change between the last shot and this shot would look really interesting due to the change of angle and perspective.

I then decided to end the first part of the chorus with the same position and shot of how the chorus started with, with Ellie standing behind the bench as it looks more interesting and also quite quirky with it ending where she started.

Now that I have edited the first part of the chorus, I am now going to start editing the second part using the footage of Ellie on the swings. I am going to just edit the shots together first then add effects and transitions last so that I would know how the whole thing looks like and also when I put in different effects and transitions.
